Harmony

I got out of my car closing the door behind me.

"Excuse me" I heard somebody say before I stepped on the porch.

I turned around to see a girl who looked about my age.

"Yeah" I said.

"I know you don't know me but I just wanted to tell you to stay away from my man"

"Look sweetheart I'm gonna stop you right there because I'm not seeing nor talking to anybody so I think you got the wrong person"

"Jays girlfriend right"

"Wrong, I am not the girl you need to be talking to" I said walking onto my porch.

"I'm coming to you as a woman"

"And I'm coming to you as a boss, I'm cool on him I already had him"

"Look bitch I don't like how friendly you are with my man and I know about y'all past" She yelled.

"Well look bitch I don't want shit to do with him, now I'm gone politely ask you to get off my mf property" I raised my voice.

"Remove me"

"Bitch I gladly will" I said taking off my heels.

I went up to her pulling her down by her ponytail and started dragging her from in front of my house.

"Harmony chill" I heard and seen Jamal running towards me.

I let go of her hair and walked up to my house grabbing my stuff and unlocking the door.

"What was that" Jamal asked coming into the house.

"I'm tired of bitches coming at me the wrong way"

I took out my phone calling Jay and put him on speaker phone setting my phone down on the counter as I grabbed a water bottle.

"Wassup" He answered the phone.

"You need to keep your bitches in check" I yelled into the phone.

"What are you talking about"

"Some bitch came over here trying to check me and got her ass dragged"

"Man chill out I'll be over there later I'm bout to feed Eric then put him down for a nap"

"Awe kiss my baby for me" I cooed.

"Man bye bipolar ass" He hung up on me.

"I miss my baby" I pouted turning to Jamal.

"Aw I miss you too" He said not looking up from his phone.

"I was talking bout Khalif" I said pushing his shoulder.

"Your Dad has him" He asked.

"Mhm" I nodded.

"I gotta talk to you about something" Jamal said pulling me on his lap.

"Wassup" I asked seeing the worried look on his face.

"You remember I told you I got brothers that live in Compton"

"Yeah I remember"

"Well something came up, I'm taking Karion and moving to Compton" He said softly trying to grab my hand.

I slowly moved my hand and got off him sitting on the stool next to him.

"How does Karion feel about this" I asked.

"At first he was upset because he doesn't want to leave you and Khalif but once I told him we could visit he was kind of okay with it"

"So you're just about to up and leave knowing that Karion has school and all his friends down here and his little brother"

"He-"

"Khalif isn't even one yet! You're basically telling me that I'm gonna be raising him on my own" I yelled not being able to keep calm anymore.

"That's not what I'm saying at all Harmony" He said rubbing his hands down his face. "I just got some things I gotta handle, I'm not neglecting you or my child I'm gonna always make sure y'all good and you know this"

"You know what you are a grown ass man and your obviously gonna do what you want, so do you" I said hopping off the stool.

"Harmony can you sit down"

"No get out"

He looked at me for a minute before standing up. "I'm leaving in two days" He said grabbing my waist and pulled me to him.

"If anything happens to Karion I swear to god I will be on the first flight to Compton and I'm beating everybody ass I don't care" I said with all seriousness.

"Trust me nothing is gonna happen to him. I just need you to make sure Khalif is good"

"You know he will be"

He grabbed my face and made me look into his eyes. "I need you to be okay too Harmony so that means if you feel depressed let me or somebody know. Don't let yourself go baby girl"

I nodded feeling tears burning the back of my eyes.

"I'll be back tomorrow I want all of us to spend the day together before we leave" He said kissing my forehead before letting me go.

"Alright" I said softly.

After he left I sat down on the couch trying to get my thoughts together.

"Hey baby" I said hugging Karion as he ran up to me.

"I had Dad buy you this to remember me" He said handing me a necklace that had a picture of me him and Khalif in it.

"I love it" I said feeling myself tear up.

"I love you" He said softly.

"I love you too baby" I smiled giving him a tight hug then a kiss on the cheek.

"Y'all ready" Jamal said after watching us from a distance.

"Yeah" I said checking to make sure Khalif was buckled in right.

It was the next morning and yesterday we all enjoyed ourselves and had so much fun. It made me even sadder that they were leaving.

We were at the airport getting their bags out the car.

Jamal grabbed Khalif from the backseat and I hugged Karion as Jamal was whispering things to Khalif.

"Please both of you be safe" I said as we all stood in a group hugging each other.

"We will y'all be safe" Karion said kissing Khalif and giving him hugs.

Jamal put Khalif back in his seat and pulled me into a hug.

"I love you mamas"

"I love you too" I said.

I grabbed his face and gave him a kiss. After saying goodbye to both of them I got in the car and drove off once I couldn't see them anymore.

I looked in the back seat to see Khalif sleeping. Tears slowly started falling from my eyes because lord knows I'm gonna miss those two and I definitely just want the best for all of us.
